DuPont protective clothing against small molten metal splashes

We recommend DuPont™ NOMEX® Protective clothing for protecting people against small molten metal splashes during welding and similar operations according to EN 470-1*.

*EN 470-1 – Protective clothing for use in welding and allied processes :

Scope :
European standard that specifies the requirements for protective clothing worn during welding operations and similar processes with comparable risks. The standard covers protective clothing to be worn at ambient temperature for up to 8 hours period and offering protection against small projections of molten metal, accidental contact with flame and UV radiation. The standard does not cover the protective clothing worn during special welding operations.

Heat & Flame Performance criteria :
Flame spread : does not continue to burn, forms no hole, does not melt or drip, after flame time < 2s, afterglow time < 2s.
Impact of Molten Metal Drops : shall require at least 15 drops of molten metal to raise the temperature behind fabric.
